1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a Guardian account or using Guardian (https://guardianbi.com), operated by Guardian, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use Guardian.
2. Eligibility
Guardian is a business tool intended for business owners and their teams. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. An organization may have multiple members; each organization's owner is responsible for managing who has access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload documents or content you don't have the right to upload
- Use Guardian to process another business's data without authorization
- Attempt to access another organization's data
- Interfere with or disrupt Guardian's infrastructure
- Use Guardian for any unlawful purpose
5. Your content & evidence
You retain ownership of the documents, images, and business records you upload to Guardian ("your content"). By uploading content, you grant Guardian a license to process, store, and analyze it solely to provide the service to you — extracting data, generating findings, and answering your questions about it. We don't use your business content to train models for other customers or for advertising.
6. AI-generated outputs
Guardian uses AI (via Anthropic's Claude models) to extract data from uploaded evidence, generate findings, and power features like Ask Guardian. These outputs are decision-support — Guardian helps you see what may be happening in your business. They are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete, and they are not professional financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice.
7. Accuracy & limitations
Numerical calculations Guardian performs on your data (such as arithmetic checks) are computed deterministically in code, not inferred by AI. However, the underlying data extraction from your documents — reading what a receipt or invoice says — is AI-assisted and can be imperfect, especially for unclear photos or unusual document formats. You're responsible for reviewing important financial, accounting, operational, tax, or legal decisions rather than relying on Guardian's output alone.
8. Intellectual property
Guardian's software, design, and branding are owned by Guardian. These terms don't grant you any rights to Guardian's intellectual property beyond the right to use the service as intended.
9. Third-party services
Guardian relies on third-party infrastructure to operate — currently Supabase (database, storage, authentication) and Anthropic (AI processing). See our Privacy Policy for details on what each processes.
10. Availability
We aim to keep Guardian available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Guardian may be unavailable at times for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control.
11. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Guardian for accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or pose a security risk. You may stop using Guardian and delete your organization at any time (see below).
12. Account & data deletion
You can permanently delete your organization's data from Settings at any time. This is described in detail on our Data Deletion page. Deleting an organization is irreversible and affects every member of that organization.
13. Disclaimers
Guardian is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that Guardian will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that its findings and AI-generated outputs will be accurate or complete.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Guardian is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Guardian, including business decisions made based on Guardian's findings or AI-generated outputs.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Guardian changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of Guardian after changes means you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
